2 Safari
starts in Arusha from town or pickup at the airport. Drive to
Ndarakwai, a private game reserve on the western slopes of
Kilimanjaro. Lodging at luxurious permanent tented camp. Evening
game drives or a visit to tree house for game
viewing.
June
3 The
whole day is open for game walks, game drives, biking through the
reserve, an afternoon in the tree house, and an evening visit to
visit the neighboring Maasai village while the cows come in for the
night.
June
4 Optional
drive to Mt. Kilimanjaro to the Shira
Plateau at 10,000 ft. Spend the day walking around on the plateau.
Return to Ndarakwai for the night.
June
5 Depart
Ndarakwai, and drive through Arusha to Tarangire National Park.

in Arusha National Park. Afternoon game
drives and lodging at the Tarangire Safari Lodge overlooking the
Tarangire River.
June
6 All
day game drive. Picnic lunches or dine at the lodge. Continue game
drives or relax in the afternoon near the pool. Late afternoon game
drives. Depart Tarangire in late afternoon for journey across the
Great Rift Valley to Kirurumu
Tented Lodges on top of the Rift Escarpment.
June
7 In
the morning, visit Mtu wa Mbo on the shores of Lake
Manyara for a
culture walk through the village. After lunch relax, and head up to
the Ngorongoro Crater rim to stay at the Wildlife Lodge overlooking
the Crater.
June
8 All
day game drive in the Crater with picnic lunch. Return to the rim
for another night at the Wildlife Lodge.
June
9 Depart
crater for transit to Serengeti camp. Stop at Olduvai Gorge and the shifting sand dune.
Transit through the short grass plain with good game viewing en
route. Luxury camp in the heart of the
Serengeti.
June
10 All
day game drives and exploring in Serengeti. Return to camp for the
night.
June 11 Further
explorations of Serengeti. Transit to the south or west to the
Grumeti River as determined by our
guides and animal movements. Return to camp for the
night.
June
12 Depart
Serengeti for Arusha via commercial turboprop. Arrive Arusha at noon
for afternoon in town and onward connections homeward. Or, continue on to Zanzibar for
five fantastic days there.
