Nov 19        Arrive to Kilimanjaro International Airport. You’ll be met at the airport and the safari begins with a two and a half hour journey to Tarangire National Park for late afternoon game drives. Lodging at elegant Tarangire Safari Lodge.

Nov 20       All day game drive at Tarangire National Park. Lot’s of elephant, wildebeest, giraffe, lions and birds galore. Return to Tarangire Safari Lodge.

Nov 21        Drive across Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara region for cultural walks, visits to villages, and shopping. Continue to Ngorongoro Crater Rim. Lodging at Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge.

Nov 22       Morning game drive in Ngorongoro Crater. Visit Olduvai Gorge en route to Serengeti. Drive across the plains for fully supported and comfortable camping in the heart of Serengeti.

Nov 23       Game drives and exploring in Serengeti. All the game and sights you’d expect in the world’s premier wildlife area. Return to camp for Thanksgiving dinner, Tanzanian style.

Nov 24       Game drives and further exploration. Return to camp for the night.

Nov 25       Morning relaxation or game drives. Midday flight from Serengeti to Arusha. End of safari. Depart from Kilimanjaro International Airport, or continue on to Zanzibar for five fantastic days there.

West Klimanjaro

If your schedule allows, come a few days early for a very unique experience at Ndarakwai Ranch, a private, 12,000-acre reserve on the western slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Nov 16        Safari starts in Arusha from town or pickup at the airport. Drive to Ndarakwai, a private game reserve on the western slopes of Kilimanjaro. Lodging at luxurious permanent tented camp. After lunch, enjoy game drives, hop on a mountain bike and explore, go for a walk with our knowledgeable guides, or relax on the veranda of your tent and let your previous travels seep away as you watch baboons in the meadow. Evening game drives or a visit to tree house for game viewing.

Nov 17        The whole day for game walks, game drives, biking through the reserve, an afternoon in the tree house, and an evening visit to visit the neighboring Maasai village while the cows come in for the night.

Nov 18        Optional drive to Mt. Kilimanjaro to the Shira Plateau at 10,000 ft. Spend the day walking around on the plateau. Or, stay at camp and go on a safari on horseback., a great way to see game close up. Stay at Ndarakwai for the night.
